Refreshingly, for a smaller energy comparison site, Energylinx uses its website as an opportunity to tell the public all about themselves. Their image appears to be technical and aimed at a more discerning user, including a high profile business energy comparison service.

Energylinx Background & Switching Service
Energylinx was recently bought by the GoCompare group and offers analysis to energy companies to allow them to set their energy prices in line with others in the industry. The team behind the company have around 20 years experience in the energy industry and they describe themselves as the largest specialist domestic energy price comparison in the UK.
Their ethos is to ensure transparency and accountability within the energy industry, by ensuring that customers can compare all available suppliers. They are fully independent of the energy suppliers they work with and are unbiased. They aim to keep their site 100% accurate and up to date, and say that they include some of the energy suppliers that cannot be found on other sites.
The website suggests that customers can save as much as £295 on their energy bills when they switch and they point out their impartiality, that they cover the entire market and that they are free to use. They make their money from the fees that are paid to them from the energy suppliers.
Energylinx use a tool called the Personal Projection which details all of the energy companies in the market and how they meet the needs of the customer. They are an accredited member of the Ofgem Confidence Code and they take privacy very seriously and will not share data with anyone.
The website is full of good information for users including a resources section that gives information on renewables, saving energy and more. The Tools section provides more technical info and even explains how to read a meter depending on the type the customer has.
The complaints section details the exact process the customer can use to achieve a good outcome. They provide their contact details and say that the complaint will be reviewed by senior management if it is not resolved by their staff. Then it is sent for an independent external review by the Ombudsman the European Commission. This is a very detailed explanation of how their complaints procedures work – more so than other similar sites.
Energylinx In the News
Energylinx maintain their own news links within their website where they detail news stories on the energy market. However they don’t seem to appear in any external news stories.
Summary
Energylinx is a more technical comparison site with quite a foothold in the business sector. Their website is designed for the more technically savvy user, but is equally crisp, clean and easy to use. They seem to have a strong background in the industry and have been around for a long time.
Negatives seem to be a lack of understanding about their cashback system – this seems to be offered through third party companies, hence their assertion that that they don’t offer cashback. Customers seem to believe that they do.
